  CHAPTER ONE

Everyone has a story, a sequence of events that makes them who they are. Most people in this life rise above, or at least manage to function with the demons that live in the inescapable walls of their brain. It was a personal battle he never cared too much about when it came to others, until now, because of her. Lefty watched Gia weave her way through the crowded club, occasionally stopping to chat with the patrons, waitresses, and strippers.

She had her hands in every aspect of the place. It was a condition she’d insisted upon when she'd signed the lease with the Dueling Devils. She turned a blind eye to club business, making the back room a place for business along with the dances ordered ala the Champagne special.

Her thick ass filled out the black miniskirt that clung to her body and showed off shapely legs.

For a petite woman, she had a wicked pair of stems. His cock twitched and hardened as he took in the miles of chocolate skin on display. Her sheer black blouse teased him with glimpses of her slender waist and black bra. She disappeared down the hall to her office and he drank down the rest of his beer.

“The party’s right here, not over there,” Demon said.

The amusement in his voice grated Lefty’s nerves like cheese. “I can’t look around?” he

  asked.

“You can do whatever the fuck you want, but there are bitches ready to entertain you right here.” Demon nodded toward the bevy of beauties twirling down the poles on the VIP platform.

“Figured you’d want something you might be able to have.”

Lefty ignored him and signaled their waitress for another beer. “I already had her.”

  “But not how you want.”

  “Shit’s complicated,” Lefty mumbled.

  “Aren’t most bitches?”

Lefty shook his head. Gia’s meddling with Demon and Ardy had him pumping the breaks.

Had she been pining for the pres. the entire time? He didn’t do second best. Hell, he’d never imagined exclusivity until Gia. The minx had gotten under his armor and made him question his life. Sharing started off as something he and Demon did for fun. Then Demon quit Gia cold

turkey and he’d hung around. Now, he was developing stalker-like tendencies.

“Fuck, man, just go say hi,” Demon urged.

“What? You found Ardy and now you want to be a matchmaker?”

“No, I’m just tired of you making fucking cow eyes at her every time you think no one’s

looking. It ain’t like you to hesitate when you want something.”

“She flipped on you, brother. I’m not trying to be into a bitch hung up on my pres.”

“I told you. That wasn’t about me. It was some other shit going on. She needs to anchor

right now. I don’t know where her fucking head is and I’ll be damned if I’ll ask.” Demon pointed at Lefty. “You might want to get on it before it’s scooped up by someone else.”

  “I ain’t sure you’re right.”

“First of all, I’m always right. Second, if she was hung up on me, do you think she’d be tight with my old lady? No fucking way.” Demon shook his head.

“Maybe,” Lefty muttered, grateful for the waitress who returned with his beer. He gave her a nod and took a large gulp. He wasn’t scared of death, pain, or any man who walked the earth.

But feeling vulnerable turned him into a little bitch. The fear creeping into his veins brought anger. The fuck am I doing? He finished off his drink and crooked a finger at the blonde shaking her ass at the edge of the stage. “Come here, Angel. I need a personal dance.”

Demon shot him a look, but kept his mouth shut.

  Damn right.

Angel hopped off the bar and made her way to him while swaying her hips.

Her tan skin with her bleached blonde hair and fake tits were the exact opposite of the

woman he was yearning for. Perfect. “Come here, sweetness…show me those moves you were doing earlier.”

She flashed him a toothpaste model white smile and turned on her four-inch clear heels,

presenting her small apple-shaped ass. “You sure you ready for it, biker?”

“I can handle whatever you want to dish out.” He leaned back in the chair.

She gripped his thighs with her hands and set her body into motion. She was a master,

twerking, rubbing, and flashing those electric blues at him. She leaned back, flinging her flower scented hair.

The soft strands of her light-colored hair tickled his skin, but otherwise, the elaborate show did nothing for him. Fuck. He stood. Her blue eyes turned into mini oceans. Shoving his hand in his pocket, he pulled out a wad, peeled off two hundred dollar bills, and strolled away, disgusted.

I’m going to put this shit to bed right now. He made his way through the crowd and turned down the hallway, nodding at the tall, bald-headed bouncer, Mikey. He reached the end of the hallway and pushed open the thick wooden door.

Gia glanced up from her desk and smiled. “Hey, Lefty.”

Her full lips were a sinful red shade he wanted to see smeared on his cock. He shut the door behind him. “Gia, you’re looking good tonight.”

She tilted her head to the side. “I’d say thank you, but you have the devil in your eyes.”

“No, you got me mixed up with Pres. My name is Lefty, darling.”

“I know your name, and I don’t think I do.” She pushed away from her desk and leaned back

  in her chair.

“You looked a little tense.” He ran his hand up her thigh. “I thought I’d help you work off some of that tension.”

“And it couldn’t wait until after work?” she whispered.

He leaned in and bit her bottom lip.

  She hissed.

“That’s part of the thrill. Knowing we might get caught.”

Her eyes darkened and her breathing sped up as he spoke.

“You like that thought, don’t you? Stand up and put your hands on the desk, Gia. We both

know I always give you what you want.”

She rose and bent over, placing both her palms on the wooden surface. His dick strained in his jeans.

“You look so pretty bent over and waiting for me to bring you pleasure.” He ran his fingers down her back, enjoying the heat of her skin against the soft material. “You been teasing me all day with glimpses of what’s beneath your clothes.” He flipped her skirt up and she
jumped.

Black lacey underwear hugged her juicy ass. He gripped her left cheek with his hand and

squeezed. “You got such a nice ass, baby.”

“Is that why you’re always filling it?” She glanced over her shoulder and smirked.

“Saucy wench.” He smacked her ass.

She moaned, pushing toward him in a silent request for more.

He delivered ten more blows, five to each cheek. Her skin took on a red hue. His balls

ached. No one made him harder than this little woman taking the delicious torture he was dishing out. He rubbed her cheeks and she purred.

“It burns so good,” she whispered.

He moved his hand down and cupped her pussy. “Fuck, you’re wet, Gia. I can feel you

through your underwear.” He moved them to the side and slid his finger down her slit, coating it in her cream. “You ready to take my dick, baby? ‘Cause I’m going to fuck you hard and fast, just how you like it.”

  “Shit, yes.”

He unzipped his jeans and pulled out his throbbing dick, stroking it once then twice. “I’m going to bury myself inside that sweet little pussy of yours, Gia, and when you come, you’re going to scream my name nice and loud.”

  “But what if someone—”

He grabbed a handful of her hair and pressed her face against the table. “Nice and loud, you got that?”

  “Yes.”

The desire that dripped from her words made him smirk. She liked being handled with a

firm hand. He reached inside his back pocket and removed his wallet, making quick work of the tin foil square inside. Fully sheathed, he teased her with the tip of his head. Her pussy gripped him, reluctant to release him. “When’s the last time you were fucked, baby?”

  “Too long,” she rasped.

The answer pleased him. “I’m going to fix that.” He thrust forward and she yowled like a cat in heat. Gripping her hips, he paused, allowing her time to adjust. Her walls were like a sweet vise on his dick. “Fuck, you’re so tight, baby.” Pulling out, he eased in, warming her up. She rocked back against him and he unleashed, pounding her pussy. The slap of their skin and her cries became music to his ears. They’d been doing this dance for over a year on and off with and without Demon. Tonight, he was going to stake his claim and they were going to stop this dance.

He grabbed her hips and tilted them, driving deeper with every thrust. By the time he was done, denying the electricity between them would be impossible. He’d fucked enough bitches to know this was different.

  “Shit, shit, shit.”

“Who’s fucking you right now, Gia?”

  “You, Lefty, oh God, you…”

The sound of his name on her lips got him high. He wanted to lock this shit down in a way

he hadn’t dreamed of since high school. Back when he was young and thought the first girl he’d had sex with was the one. “That’s right, and I want you to come for me, baby.” She flexed her muscles and he groaned. “That’s it, milk my cock.” Her body shook. She shoved her face into her arm and screamed as she convulsed. He released his hot seed and planted a kiss on her

shoulder. He pulled out and disposed of the condom in the bathroom adjoined to the office. He returned and chuckled when he saw she remained flat on her desk, catching her breath. He fixed her underwear and pulled down her skirt, smoothing the material over her ass. “You going to make it?”

“I’ll let you know after you peel me off this surface and help me to my chair.”

He laughed, lifted her up, and rested her on her chair. “I want to stop doing this dance.”

“What dance?” She frowned. “Was this a goodbye lay?”

“No, it was a this-is-my-pussy only fuck.”

Mirth left her eyes. “I belong to no man.”

“Don’t you? Whose name were you screaming out just now?”

“You know I don’t do exclusive.” She shook her head, sending reddish-brown curls flying.

“Yes and neither did I.” He walked up and gripped the arms of her chair, boxing her in.

“Yet, here we are again. We keep coming back to each other.”

  “Duh, the sex is explosive.”

“That’s not all it is and you know it.” He growled.

  She visibly tensed.

“I’ve told you things, personal shit, and you’ve done the same.”

“So…we had too much to drink a few times and the shit got personal.” She shrugged,

  looking everywhere but at him.

He released the arms of the chair and slammed his fist against her desk. “Don’t you fucking do that! I won’t let you keep coping out.” He clenched is jaw. His face grew hot and anger swelled in his gut. It was the same old song and dance.

“If you knew me, you’d know this wouldn’t work.”

“Tell me why. Give me a reason. ‘Cause I tried to stay away from you and it didn’t work.”

  “Maybe you should try harder.”

“That’s not what you said when I came in here, pulled your skirt up, and paddled your ass.”

She glanced down. “Why do you keep pushing this? When you came back, I thought you

were ready to go back to the way we were.”

Her words stung like acid. The last time he’d hinted at more, she’d pulled away, claiming

she needed space. “Bullshit. We need to set this shit right. I saw you watching me from the corner of your eyes. Keeping tabs on who and what I’ve been doing. You’re not that slick. If I thought you wanted me to step off, I would. The fact is, it’s not what you want.”

She stood abruptly. Her chair slammed into the desk. “No one is ever going to tell me what do again.” Her accent thickened and her eyes went wild.

  “Hey.”

She blinked and finally focused in on his face.

He knew now that she was back with him. “I’m not no one, and this is going to happen regardless if you want it to or not. It’s already started. I don’t know what happened to you, but I can’t help if you keep the shit bottled up. I’m watching you slip, Gia. I’m trying to be the anchor that keeps you from washing away.”

“I’m fine. Same as I’ve always been.”

“Really? Is that why you had a freak out on Demon? So, he’s fine to keep you, but not me?”

  “‘Cause you want too much!”

Her scream made him take a step back.

“You don’t want an endless supply of casual sex. You want everything, and if I let you in, you will consume me. I can’t have that.” She shook her head, clutching her throat with one of her tiny hands. “I have to be in control. I fought too hard to gain that power to ever give it away again.”

Her violent reaction shocked him. “Gia, baby, it’s okay.”

“I can’t be what you want me to be. I—I just can’t.” She shook her head.

“All I want is for you to be is mine.”

“You don’t want that.” Her lower lip trembled. “You see what I let you see. If you knew

what lived inside my head, you’d never look at me the same and I couldn’t handle it.”

His stomach muscles tightened. The smart ass, strong, intelligent, and loyal woman he’d

come to know over the years was unraveling right before his eyes. Demon’s right, something is very wrong here. “What’s going on with you, G?”

She blinked and a shutter came down over her emotions. She bowed her head and took a few

deep breaths. “Nothing, I’m fine. This…” She gestured from herself to him. “It’s just not for me.”

“You can’t keep bottling this up, G. I know something is wrong.” He reached out and

  grabbed her shoulder.

She stepped back. “I’m not doing this, Lefty. If you care, you’ll let sleeping dogs lie.”

He paused. Instinct told him to forge forward, but the look in her eyes stopped him. “I’m

going to leave it for now, G, but we both know you aren’t fine.” He
ran his hands through his hair. “I’m going to go and give you space.” Feeling like he’d gone ten rounds with a

heavyweight champ, he spun on his heel and left the office. She drove him insane.

  * * * *

The moment Lefty exited the room, Gia locked the door behind him and slid to the floor.

She rested the back of her head against the door. Her shoulders shook with her silent sobs. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Memories assailed her, the sound of dancehall music, the feel of

blinding lights and roaming hands. Her stomach rolled. I thought I was over this. The minute she had a shot at freedom, she’d taken it, fleeing the country and building her life from the ground up. Now, the whisperings of Mylandra coming to the United States had her reverting to the

frightened youth she’d once been. Furious with her regression, she swiped at her tears and gained her feet, stumbling into the bathroom.

“You will not let her win.” She stared at her reflection. “You’re a survivor. It’s what you do no matter what. She can’t touch you now. You made sure of that.” There’d been a reason she went in with the Dueling Devils and catered to motorcycle clubs. They appreciated loyalty and protected their own. She’d learned a long time ago might makes right, and the ones with the power made things happen. Turning on the faucet, she splashed her face and blotted it dry with a towel. She reached for the bag of touch up items she kept in the top drawer of the vanity.

Calming as she repaired the damage from her mini meltdown, she cursed her past and the claws it had sunk deep into her. I’ll never be normal. She sucked air into her lungs. But I can be happy and successful, which is more than I ever let myself dream of for a second.

Satisfied with her appearance, she carefully rebuilt her walls. She was Gia, the ball busting bitch who did as she pleased, took no shit, and made everyone believe she was untouchable.

After everything she’d been through, she took the treatment of her body damned serious. No one touched unless she gave permission, and then you’d better come correct. Better for the pep talk, she squared her shoulders and left the bathroom. Unlocking the office door, she stepped back into the world she’d created.
